Fresh Khaber, accessible at https://fresh-khaber.com, is committed to responsible digital publishing in delivering news and updates on Sports. As a digital news platform, we adhere to the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) Code of Ethics, which outlines high standards, ethics, and practices for digital news publishing. This page details our commitment to these principles while maintaining complete editorial and content independence.
1. Commitment to Responsible Digital Publishing
We uphold the DNPA’s mission to promote ethical digital publishing while protecting the Right to Freedom of Speech and Expression under Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution. We scrutinize developments that may restrict the gathering and dissemination of news to ensure our content remains free and independent.
2. Accuracy, Transparency, and Fairness
We strive to maintain the highest standards of journalistic integrity by:
- Avoiding publication of inaccurate, baseless, or distorted material.
- Conducting mandatory pre-publication verification of facts.
- Avoiding defamation and ensuring adherence to applicable laws.
- Incorporating comments or versions of individuals or parties mentioned in allegations. If not initially included, their response, if received later, will be incorporated.
- Updating content appropriately when developments occur, with the date of update noted.
3. Legal Compliance
Fresh Khaber complies with the laws of India, including the Constitution, over 30 media-related laws, relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Information Technology Act, 2000, where applicable. Specifically, we adhere to Sections 67, 67A, and 67B of the IT Act, which penalize publishing or transmitting obscene, sexually explicit, or child-related explicit material in electronic form.
4. Respect for Privacy
We respect the privacy of individuals, especially those not in public life, by:
- Avoiding the publication of sensitive personal information without consent.
- Excluding names, photographs, or details that could identify victims, juveniles, or workplace perpetrators in sensitive cases.
5. Responsible Reporting
We exercise special care in reporting sensitive matters, including:
- Communal or Religious Disputes: News items are published only after thorough fact verification and presented with restraint to promote communal harmony, amity, and peace.
- Court and Judicial Matters: We ensure accurate reporting of court hearings and judicial matters, covering versions of both victims and accused without commentary.
- Sensational Issues and Crime: We preserve the presumption of innocence, avoid speculation on evidence or witness conduct, and base reporting on verified facts.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
We respect intellectual property by:
- Obtaining prior permission for copyrighted material and acknowledging moral and ownership rights.
- Paying required fees or royalties for copyrighted content.
- Using trademarks or service marks only with permission or under fair use.
- Editing, deleting, or taking down content upon receiving valid intellectual property infringement requests with necessary documentation.
